McCarran International Airport - Terminal 1 with The Strip Background
Long recognized as the Entertainment Capital of the World, Las Vegas also is often referred to as “The Jewel of the Desert.” At its heart of the Las Vegas Strip, which is world-renowned for its neon glitter and diverse hotels, casinos and restaurants that provide opportunities for everyone to experience Las Vegas at its best. Approximately 4.2 miles long, the Strip begins south at the “Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas” sign at Las Vegas Boulevard and Russell Road and stretches north along Las Vegas Boulevard to Sahara Avenue. MCCARRAN INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT The main commercial airport for Las Vegas, McCarran International Airport was named after former Nevada senator Pat McCarran. Consisting of aircraft gates at separate terminal buildings, McCarran International Airport hosts domestic, regional and international services for more than 20 airlines. In addition, it is the largest operating base for Allegiant Air and Southwest Airlines and a crew and maintenance base for Spirit Airlines. McCarran is the 24th busiest airport by passenger traffic in the world and eighth in the world in terms of aircraft movements. Located right next to the Las Vegas Strip, McCarran offers passengers who fly into the city a parade of lights and a fabulous view of Las Vegas.
