Nevada State Museum - Las Vegas
Located at the Las Vegas Springs Preserve, the Nevada State Museum is one of six state museums operated by the Nevada Department of Cultural Affairs. A unique part of the overall Springs Preserve experience, the Nevada State Museum takes visitors through expansive historic collections to advance understanding of the history, pre-history and natural history of Nevada while emphasizing Southern Nevada and the surrounding areas. The beautiful facility features an exhibit gallery as the museum centerpiece, allowing visitors to stand face-to-face with Nevada’s state fossil, an ichthyosaur shonisaurus popularis; step inside a stalactite cave; watch holographic figures tell the tale of Nevada’s miners; witness an atomic explosion; and see the glitz and glamour of historic Las Vegas.
